So we're a few games in, injuries are racking up and were unbeaten. We've dropped some pts but also gained pts and are joint second in table. We're getting goals from all areas of the field and playing an attractive brand of football for periods of the home games.

I'd have taken our current position at the start of the season, with bells on. 5 wins, 2 draws, no defeats. One of our strikers (Pittman) is scoring, and in Leesley we have a fantastic midfield player and goal provider. Ainge and Shiels are superb centre backs (and Ellis ain't a bad reserve!), Parker is an upgrade on McWilliams, Kerry was in magnificent form prior to the injury (real blow that, to him, of course, and the team), but Thanof should be a good replacement. We still have Brooksby to come in. OK we have only met one really 'big' team so far, but as the cliche has it, you can only beat what is in front of you. We have the points on the board, which is crucial.
On the downside, the injury situation is worrying, but we have a squad full of quality players, so not too concerned at the moment, but can't afford any more serious injuries.
Real chance to consolidate our position the next two home games, which I shall miss it, darn it!
So I am pretty happy at the moment. a lot happier than those moaning Halifax fans anyway...hilarious.

These next two games will show whether we can grind results out. The win at the shay can't come at the expense of dropped points against other teams.
