I know I've already put my team on a different topic but see mine below:
The line-up I'd go for is:

    1)Crook
    2)Turner 5)Ellis 6)Ainge 3)Parker

    7)Colbeck 8)Thanoj 4)Kerry 11)Leesley

    10)Knowles(if not fit Chib) 9)Robertson

    Subs:
    Shiels
    Platt
    Emmett
    JP Pittman
    Chilaka

I'd prefer us to play a 4-4-2 formation but I feel that Weaver is more keen to play a diamond with no wingers. I'm worried that we're not going to create enough chances for the strikers this way.

Thats tough on Burrell chips! It's really tough fitting in a midfield, defence picks itself for me as you've said, I'd have Chib and Robertson up front and see if they can sort out a partnership

You're right it is, I was going to include him on the bench but then realised I'd forgot about Emmett! Can't not have his impact coming on the pitch.

SW may have to drop 1 of his strikers of the bench. It's a right conundrum but Burrell has to be in the mix for me.

Will be interesting to see who starts.Going to be hard with strength and quality in every position. Will he stick to the diamond or try something different.
I know we have four strikers, but with doubts about Dom I'd try something totally different 4-5-1.. With Robertson leading the line.
Leesley,Burrell,Thanoj,Kerry,Colbeck across the middle, allowing both Joe's to push on as second wingers.
Parker,Ainge,Ellis,Turner back four.Feel for Shiels who's a quality centre back.
    Crook no1
    subs.
    Shiels
    Emmett
    Chib.
    JPP.
    Platt.

Would go with Chips side, with Chib in.

Doesn't look like being a 442 unfortunately but lets see how it goes the next month. Just fear that lack of width in the last quarter makes teams be nice and compact at the back. Yes we will have runners into the box but is expecting a lot of even our great midfielders to pass and move non league Barca style through the middle.

Worcester seem in disarray at the moment so will be a good moment to play them as we bed the system in.

We do have a great squad and cannot wait for them to come again what will be a very strong division. Halifax away will be a real benchmark for us.

Quite like boselecta's idea of 5 in midfied, pushing forward. Incidentally how many points would satisfy you at 5 pm a week on Saturday after the Altrincham game? 9 would obviously be fantastic but unlikely. Two wins and a draw should be possible, and I wouldn't be too upset with 6 points. I think 5 should be a minimum requirement if we are serious about promotion.

I see that Swain has gone. He would have struggled (injuries aside) to get into the team, so good luck to him.

I know they are all clichés but every point is vital this time round. It's also important to set the tone and ensure the players start off on the right foot and get some confidence going as there will be barren spells. I'd settle for 2 wins and a draw but really want us to win at home and get a fortress mentality.

It's got to be the time to really perform at home as it will increase gates, create an even better atmosphere and fully realise the potential of the club through increased opportunities for juniors, advertising and marketing. It will also minimise the lingering doubts around the 3G. God help us if we go on a losing streak at home.

For me there have been false dawns where we have choked and that has got to stop (thinking away to FC Utd *shudders at thought of it) and with the level of talent and experience then 9 pts is doable.

Yeah Worcester in disarray, Boston having lost a couple of key players although have signed a good couple and Altrincham who there own fans think of being a rebuild season and lost some key players - why not 9 points.

Interesting to see on another non league forum that a few opposing fans have us for going up. Also reminded myself of how funny those dustbindippers at the Shay really like us.......FC Broccoli and Stepford Whores FC being just a couple of names tossed into the mix for us.

    Bless 'em.

With Louie gone we really are thread bare at left back.I know Turner can play there but a recognized left back as cover to Parker is a must.
Some nice comments from Mason Warren.Any chance we could bring him back?

Warren was a class act. Lot to learn but again he'd be on the bench until required. Hopefully Parker goes an entire season injury free, God knows he deserves it but odds are........

Been impressed with Parker, quietly and tidily gets on with his job. Saw him overlapping and up in attack and thought how the hell did he get up there as doesn't appear mobile but covers the plastic really well.

Surprised about Ellis but rest of team as suspected. Sounded like plenty of chances, lack of a bounce and composure and at least 2 shocking ref decisions. Chuffed for JP but we need to be putting away teams. A point is a point however. See Kidderminster aren't mucking about!

We have been lied to again. We were promised good fast footy but all we got was long punts upfield to people who struggle to head the ball.We had chances but failed again to score and got 2 scrappy goals.

I suppose at least we got 2 goals. JP can get them in off his arse for all I care but we need to be building of this. Boston on Tuesday will be the litmus test!

Imvho - lucky to scrape a draw today against relegation favourites. The only consolation is that it's only the first game and false judgement can be arrived at so early in the season. However, in front of our eyes today were a clutch of very mediocre-performing newcomers. If Emmett hadn't dribbled himself into a free kick in the last couple of minutes we'd have lost to the bookies' favourites for the drop!
    Let's hope that Tuesday's performance is a mind-changer.

I'm convincing myself that it's the first game and we need to keep a steely nerve. Lot of draws yesterday so maybe there won't be a gimme game but from all the feedback of those there and SW, plenty to work on. Looking forward to Boston as a game as will give real indication of where we are at as a team. After altrincham we will have a good idea. Hopefully got at least 5 pts on the board but should be 7 pts.

Yes in the end we were extremely lucky to have snatched a draw, we had a few chances that weren't taken also; especially Luke Shiels from about 5 yards out passing to the keeper. We played very poor with no passing football in our game it was mostly hoof and hope for the best.

The Worcester City midfield looked much fitter than ours and looked as though they were more up for it battling for every ball. Kerry have the ball away too much but hoping it's a just a one off.
Leesley still worries me as I still haven't seen him do anything really. Can he take a player on and beat them?

I thought Colbeck was our most creative player and played ok yesterday, personally I'd have kept him on and taken Leesley off for Emmett.

I felt sorry for all the strikers who played as nothing was created for them it was just booted up field and see what happens.

The referee made some very strange decisions also, many harsh free-kicks given against Town and a penalty for what looked like was just a ball booted at a Town player.

At the end of the day we didn't deserve a point but we got one and I'll take that away from home. Onto Boston where we should be looking for 3 points now!

In the bigger picture, a 2-2 draw against Worcester is a decent result. It's not a defeat, and we don't have the greatest of records at their place, so i'm content with the result. Sometimes, you need a bit of luck on your side. I am disappointed with our defence, conceding 2 goals. But then, a player of Lee Hughes calibre needs to be closely marked all game (even if he is 40)

It's a point gained, rather than 3 lost. I will look at the table after 10 games and make a judgement then.

    Onwards to Tuesday.

So we score from two Leesley free kicks and he has a shot cleared off the line.
Football will always be a game that people see differently.

Was it a 442? Looking at the inclusion of Cobeck with Leesley it looked like two wingers. My preference but wish we had played it a few more times in preseason if it was a switch back from the diamond yesterday.
Boston seemingly not great yesterday so hope we get into them from the off.
