    Stadium update Empty Stadium update

Post by Townfan Wed Jun 29, 2016 10:49 am

Since there is very little (none) traffic on here at the moment I thought I would give a little update on the ground, apart from the obvious.
Work on the North Gate turnstiles, the changing rooms, the new irrigation system and the Hospitality area are all well underway and should be completed in the next few weeks.
The wooden shed and garage have now been demolished and cleared.
    It's been a busy time.

Cheers Townfan. What are the changes to the hospitality area? Must admit I am quite fond of the additional roof they put on last year and the al fresco seating.

Anyone got a timing for the finished pitch? Looks to be progressing well.

There's a load of pics on the Supporters Facebook Group or if you're on Twitter, just search Harrogate Town.

Popped in earlier this evening and looked resplendent with the evening sun glinting on it. Noted that there is a pronounced slope from the Wetherby road side from the stand to the edge of pitch.

With the fixtures tomorrow would be great to get a Darlo or Shaymen first game at home.

Thanks. An amazing amount of hard work by all concerned must have gone into this. Tremendous effort.

    Hospital end.
With the pitch now another three feet lower than last year and the advertising boards now going back up in the same place, it looks like you will only be able to see the top half of the goals from the stand.
Probably best to use that end for visitor segregation after all.

Never liked the Kop prefer the Wetherby road stand, seems bad planning by the club the kop should have been higher

solution being maybe moving down the hoardings on to the wooden sleeper areas at the bottom. smaller and less of them so potential advertising hit (maybe offer a bigger area on the front of the stand roof in addition). Hopefully the club might recognise the impact the stand has had bigger picture - this would be detrimental to the experience, especially as it gets more popular. The lack of hoardings immediately in front would help remedy this to a good extent and also add a point of difference to the style of the stand.
