And we're off! Nailed the playoffs! Let's get the adverts out early again as no advertiser to rely on this time and game on. Tactics anyone! and (touching wood) who do you fancy in the final- Boston or North Ferriby?

Boston because we would be at home! Also I think that Ferriby would probably beat us at their place. Sorry.

Tactics? Keep the ball on the ground like Saturday! Long ball nonsense and we will lose.

Short turnaround to promote our first ever play-off match @ Home!!

Yep. Need to rely on stray fm generating some buzz and shares on Facebook as well as email. Definately play better with ball to feet, feel we need to tighten up at the back as a few free headers floating around keep up the high tempo.

We need to play the ball quickly along the floor and press high up the pitch, defending in numbers. Please, please don't just play the long, high ball. Yesterday, I loved the quick free flowing attacking football, but I thought defensively we were a bit dodgy . Don' t
forget they have a prolific goal scorer to match our own, so we need to shut him down.

INMHO it seems to have worked out quite well (apart from finishing second). Prefer to meet Fylde than North Ferrets, having played them a week ago without our three best player (Ellis, Turner & Daniels) I don't fear them at all. We then just need Boston to get through for a home Final and we should have beaten them a fortnight ago.Surplus wrote:And we're off! Nailed the playoffs! Glad Nuneaton didn't make it because they would have been the biggest threat.
No problem then !!

Nuneaton fans must be livid, although on their forum they seemed remarkably polite. Certainly make for an interesting AGM.
I'm expecting a cagey affair on Wednesday with flyde defending in numbers and hoping to catch us on the break, hoping to get a draw or cheeky goal and then do a job on us at theirs. Not sure how SW will setup as expected Platt or Burrell to start against Corby plus do you set up an attack minded team or play it cautious?

They don’t get bigger games than this for us!
Need the regulars to help encourage as many folk down Wednesday night as possible, especially as it’s the Champions League 2nd leg on TV!
This opportunity we have earnt for ourselves could be our best chance of promotion out of this league!

Agree with this. Our league looks really tough next year, exciting but tough! We have a real chance this year, may not come again for a while. We are at least ad good as the other three teams, no reason why we can't do it. Just wish we had strikers who scored. We have everything else.

We’ve conceded 2 goals against them in both matches this season!!!
We can’t afford to let that happen again.
We need to take our chances when we get them but ensure we are still in the tie after Wednesday night’s game!
Then get as many fans on these coaches as we can for the 2nd leg on Sunday!
Tell ye Gran we’re all off to Blackpool for the day!!!!!

Difficult to say how to play this. Do you setup conservatively defending in numbers and hope to nick one on the counter or do you try and pin them back and play high tempo attacking style. Would've thought flyde would be happy with a turgid 0-0 and then try and do a job on us at theirs. Really tough calls for SW on persona and formation but someone needs Rowe? in their pocket for 90+4. Needs to be watertight at the back, fighting like badgers in midfield and slicker than an otters pocket upfront. Just hope if we get a sniff, someone's had their weetabix and nails it. Ideal score for me would be 2-0 to us. Imperative we don't concede.

Any win would do, away goals do not count in play off games.

I'd be shocked if we got 1000+ again. Obviously hoping for more but no newspaper coverage, midweek, so this will tell us how word of mouth, social media and success can increase the fanbase!

Should be 1000+
Fylde will bring about 150 I believe.

You might be right but we have pulled in big crowds on a night before
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
So we need to be prepared, especially if National League Officials are attending!

Agreed on being prepared. Presume there was a good reason for only 1 cafe to be open as well as grumbles from away fans. Still, bring it on! Trying to convince myself that the season is already a success so the result doesn't matter but it's not working. Just want to stuff Flyde out of sight with a home final against Boston who are so paralysed with fear that we have a repeat of that farcical game where they ended up fielding a five a side team!

Supersized #wegoagain
I think with the calibre of the other teams we stand a mighty chance of doing it. How exciting.
Would love Boston in the final. They'd get another day out as well bless 'em. Maybe all of the Adams family will come this time.

This is heartening stuff, with their proposed move to full time and players moving on...... [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Togetherness, desire, team spirit; all things we have heard a lot about with our lot and seen a fair few times - hope the lads show that over the next two games and get into them. #wolfpack #BDaniels.
We can do this!!!!

Hopefully our players relax, I think if the players relax they will tear Fylde apart.
This is my message to any players viewing:
The season has already been a huge success, promotion would tip the iceberg, but please please go out there and enjoy it and what ever happens (win, lose or draw), we are right behind you - go get them!!
