Simon got it just about right on Saturday against Corby. Playing Jordan upfront with Paul worked so well. 3-0 after 17 mins!! WHAT A START. The reps from the other play-off teams will have taken note. Watch the goals and its evident that Jordan read Paul's lay offs/flick on's brilliantly to collect the ball and use his pace to win the pen and then pull the ball across goal for Brendan at the back post to set up Lloyd. Zone 14 attacked and opened up.

I commented recently that Brendan was adding up to 1000 metres each game having to take the corner kicks from both wings. Delighted to see that Louie and Joe had that role on Saturday. Our second goal from Louie's great corner to the back post where Danny's header back across goal found Brendan who calmly volleyed the ball in. How many more goals would Brendan have scored if he had been better used in the box from corner kicks??

It could have been four with Paul heading in from a great cross from Joe. The Ref's Ass picked Brendan out at the back post so denying Paul a great goal his performance so richly deserved.

What we did not do 100% on Saturday was defend better especially at corner kicks. Watch the recording and weep at the ball watching going on as well as lack of picking up their tall men. They had at least TWO free headers at goal which on another day would have been punished. Some of our players had their backs to the ball and did not know a corner had been taken. SCHOOL BOY ERRORS.
Our opponents will take note. We must be switched on and not go to sleep!! Crook needs to shout at our players to get them to pick up EARLY.

LOUIE SWAIN we want to keep 11 men on the pitch. Have you not learned from being sent off at FC UTD???

Simon resting Tom Platt was a good move too. No one has covered more ground in the last four games than Tom and put in as much to keep our goal intact. Three MoM awards on the TROT signify that especially as they were against Nuneaton, Boston & Fylde. Third, fifth & sixth in the league. NOT Corby against whom our midfield had so much time to comb their 'lovely hair' then pick a pass under little pressure. Corby after playing us has conceded 91 goals over the season. Will Tom feature in the Fylde matches from the first whistle only Simon knows. But remember we are playing a much different beast than Corby. Fylde like to build from the back and keep possession. At their place recently our starting line up will not resemble the one that starts next Sunday. We will have more strength in depth and have much more pace to keep Fylde busy. HORSES FOR COURSES.

The ball boys are also having a positive effect in keeping the game flowing. Well done to the club for introducing this.

WELL DONE TO LEICESTER. Recently Leicester beat Man City away 3-1 with ONLY 35% possession. They defended resolutely and because of their pace were able to take their chances. Watching Jack score our fifth goal emphasised how a skilful player with pace can take advantage of Zone 14. That was Jack at his best. He may be in the end our ACE IN THE PACK.
