    Towns badge Empty Towns badge

Post by Townminsterman Fri Apr 08, 2016 4:00 pm

Me and my mate were discussing teams badges and emblems on them and what they meant and stood for.
We got talking about towns badge and knew the the Yorkshire rose emblem, the spa water emblem and the red lion for England but we couldn't figure out the other two symbols and what they stood for.
The castle/building and the other one any ideas?

May be wrong but the castle is York castle I think.

    Townfan is your best bet.

The castle is Knaresborough. The horn represents Ripon. The water represents a Spa Town. The white Rose represents the Town lies in Yorkshire. The lion represents the Forest of Knaresborough.

Out of interest why were they chosen for the badge of town?
Isn't it a bit silly have symbols representing other towns on another towns football crest?

Town's badge used to be the full Harrogate coat of arms. About 15 years ago they took the decision to just use the centre, which is what you see now.

To potentially represent the area at a national level the club needs to draw its support from the areas covered on its badge!
