Remember this guy at Grimsby, he scored for fun during his spell there,30 odd goals in 90 appearances i think, and he was attracting interest from the higher leagues. My home town team (Reading FC) were sniffing around him for a bit. If he can recapture his form, this guy would be lethal at this level, really hope this isn't an early April Fool....a real statement of intent for me. Well done Town.

Re: Liam Hearn Signs !!!
This is a great signing for us. Together with the acquisition of Luke Foster, we have bulked/freshened up our squad with two National League players at just the right time.
I remember the Clayton/Hearns partnership that put Alfreton Town into the top league a few years ago.
Still think that Solihull will walk the championship but second place has to be the target.

Totally agree TownFan, think Solihull have just about sealed the league, but second place would ensure a slightly easier play off, thats if there is indeed an easy playoff game
But if we can get our strikers firing on all cylinders prior to the playoffs then who knows. Also, would Hearn be available for the playoffs ????

Seems a bold signing and good luck to him. Certainly a well known name and a prolific goalscorer in the past. Let's hope he can do the necessary for Town. Interesting partnership renewing old acquaintance with Clayts.

Re: Liam Hearn Signs !!!
This signing is a real statement of intent. Been aware of Liam Hearn for quite some time. Prolific at Grimsby, Alfreton and Lincoln. I'm very happy at this signing as the Strikers department, in my opinion did need 'freshening' up as such and it will also take the pressure off Brendan as well, which will benefit him massively and take him to the next level as well as benefit Clayton as they have played together previously.
This signing alone will have made the teams around us sit up and take notice that we are serious contenders.

What a signing. Seeing some of his goals online and you can see he is the real deal. Some great goals and despite his loan to us has still scored goals this season for Lincoln. Just what we needed for the run-in and will give everyone a lift; Clayts getting a proven partner in the team, gets the midfield back to creating goals and takes the pressure off relying on them so much. Hope he starts tomorrow.

Does seem like a good signing and we definitely needed another striking option. A goal every 2 games for Lincoln City is pretty good. However, the Imps fans don't seem exactly heart broken by the news, seems as though there were 'issues'. Doesn't really matter if he can get, say, 5 or 6 goals for us before the end of the season. Has to start tomorrow surely. What about Foster? A massive signing (Southport's captain), and we havn't seen him play yet. Weird.

I don't think it is weird as up until mid-week we had kept a number of clean sheets. On their day Ellis and McGurk are as good as any centre backs in this league.

Yes read that and also seen a telling Grimsby interview with him - that said a man with a point to prove, back in the division where he became a star, playing alongside the perfect foil that saw the propel Alfreton to promotion, in a team that can create great chances for him. Hopefully he knows he could put himself in the shop window for next season or get us promoted and we hopefully hang on to him if he is anywhere near what he has achieved goalscoring wise season after season and not a flash in the pan who aint scored any goals for years now.

Re: Liam Hearn Signs !!!
Well hopefully, we will get to see Cec Nyoni playing for Alfreton as well, and get one of our players to give him a crunching tackle. (Flanagan on Sterling style..... )
