Just wondering what forumites think our chances of going down are this season now?

We are 7 points above the drop zone, but Gloucester have a game in hand.

Hyde are somewhat adrift but no one else is.

I am now thinking that relegation is a realistic possibility, because as things stand we need to improve significantly just to pick up draws.

I'm looking forward with ever more desperation to the return of Worsfold, but there aren't many other bright spots on the horizon.

P.S. Tad said on the radio today that Speight was given a 2 year contract. affraid

Even I am not that pessimistic. Simon will save his own bacon, he always does. Looking forward to next season already!

Even if it doesn't come to actual relegation I think we could well be involved in a scrap towards the end of the season. Listened to the radio commentary (for as long as I could bear) and thought the (fairly made) comments were more explicit than I have heard before as regards changes needing to be considered/too much tinkering with tactics/too many players used etc.

Of course we all love this club but what a mess in our centenary year. What a mess in any year.

I think it's a real possibility, can't see us getting any more points this year with the fixtures coming up. The players clearly don't want to play for this 'manager' any longer.

See Railway won again, Cartman scored again. Town v Rail is becoming a real fixture possibility next year in the Evo-stick Premier, and I know which team would be favourites.

I'd bet against relegation but not much more. The depressing thing as far as I'm concerned is that I'm past the point of caring - it would seem most town players feel the same. I'll be giving railway a go - looking forward to seeing cartman in action. Maybe see a few of you down there?

    Merry Christmas all

I was out all day yesterday, for the first time in a very long time I wasn't bothered about finding out the score, and nor did I care. I expected us to get beat and I expect us to lose our next 4 games. Just had a quick look, and omg playing Adam upfront and a centre back in mid field when we have all but one available....very strange indeed but typical of a man who hasn't learnt a thing in 5 years.

Given the up coming fixtures, the fact that we have played decent football in only one game and the recent performance, I can see a very long second half of the season coming up.

Yeah Railway are having a superb season after a poor start and am looking forward to watching them next Sunday against the ex-scum boys team. Promotion I would think is probably a step too far though.
The Stalybridge/Hyde double header over the Holiday period is interesting !!

Town train twice a week for (in total) 3 hours a week
That makes it very hard to turn things around especially when fortunes are at a deep low
Perhaps the players can show willing by agreeing an extra training session until results improve?

I can assure you now that no amount of dual UEFA A licenced coaching sessions will make this collection of individuals into a good side.

Better not leave it to the final 3 matches. Oxford, Fylde and Stockport are all likely to be in contention for a play off place. Theoretically there is a run of more likely winnable games in March and at Easter

No doubt that's what Weaver is banking on. And then what? Round we go again. No doubt going into next season with false renewed optimism. Why wait until then? Sack the joker now.

yea even if they had 4 hours training, you don't have time to instill idiotic tactics, this is why I always say stick to a formation the players are comfortable with...Fine if you have all week on the training ground....tinkering with spastic formations and playing players out of position is a recipe to what is now - nightmare!! You could give Weaver premier league players to play for Harrogate town and he would still **** it up

Match report on Saturday summed that up Trev - Apparently Town were playing a 3-1-3-1-1-1 or a 5-1-2-1-1 formation.

Listened to bits of the commentary and Rob Young (poor sod has to travel all round the country sitting in freezing stadiums watching this ****) seems to have finally cracked, just about managed to retain his professional standing and didn't actually SAY what the change was that needed to happen, but it was obvious what he meant. Well done Rob.

I forgot Harrogate Town were a thing until today. I saw a man wearing a town hat at work and remembered all about the club and this place. Checked the results and discovered we are out the cup (which I didn't realize we were in) and had lost two league games since I last even checked the results. In truth the last time I thought about Harrogate Town football club was roughly around the 22nd of November a whole month ago!

I wonder if im the only one who has drifted away?

Not sure how many folk will have 'drifted away' to that extent. Most of us are only too painfully aware of what's going on.

I can't remember the exact words, but he made the point about SW having used over 200 players since he came, then said he'd used 30 this season, made a point about the constantly changing tactics/team formations, and said something like maybe there are other changes to be made than just constantly changing the team. Tad remained diplomatically quiet and (if I recall), changed the subject to all the ground improvements! It was his tone of voice as much as anything, he just sounded really exasperated and fed up.

Wouldn't the dredging up of a thread that was apt last year........(did you go to guiseley?).......be more relevant once we have hopefully secured a playoff place in May, not when we are a place below the playoffs.
And what an odd and insincere way to wish everyone a merry Christmas.

Guiseley certainly was the turning point, the day the management started to listen to the loyal fans, and what a difference it has made.
