Re: Town v York City
Even better performance than against Gateshead - tremendous all round - Knowles for his finishing, Colbeck for a willingness to go past the defender and shoot on sight! Ellis was class, Andy McWilliams was terrific on his debut - super fit, composed, delivers superb corners
Tadcaster on Tuesday - hope we can maintain this standard!

Yes such a composed performance today, lots of flair and plenty of great link play..The test will come against the so called lesser teams since that is where we have struggled in the past.

I didn't get to the game in the end, but this was not a result I was expecting. I looked at the match report and if it is true, how much we dominated. Was it really as 1 sided as the match report?

Re: Town v York City
It was a very good performance from the town squad from start to finish-We set off great and got the all important first goal then let York come into the game and have their 10 mins of dominance - Second half as the usual team changes took place we got far more of the play and Kerry got his rare but important 2nd goal which was a low cross whitch their defenders left to each other-all in all we can be far more happy with our team than York supporters- Simons got the difficult job of sorting his squad out from this very talented bunch of players

Re: Town v York City
Some York fans really not happy 2nd half yesterday giving “Wilcox” some verbal’s!!!
Can’t really judge your team until the proper games start & whether or not your contracted players decide to put their “slippers” on instead of their football boots!!!!!

Re: Town v York City
Yes, trying not to get carried away, but I have just seen two remarkable performances in a row, Saturday probably even better than the Gateshead game. They had a fair bit of possession and a lot of shots but most of them never troubled our keeper. We looked dangerous throughout, and, as Garage says, picking a starting XI for the Brackley game will not be easy.
So what is the difference? We all know that lots of good players have passed through the CNG the last five years, but, for whatever reason, none of the various combinations ever really gelled as a team. I'm terrified of saying this in case it all goes pear shaped (again), but this time it REALLY does feel different. Its hard to imagine this bunch of players ever just going through the motions. I can't think of a weak link, and we should have a talented bunch on the bench most weeks as well: hope Simon is able to keep this squad of players happy. And remember we haven't even seen Gascoigne, Fallowfield and Emmett yet! Scary.
So (and I really hope I'm not regretting these words in a few weeks time), this season could, just could, be the one.

Fully agree with Paulstreet in the opinion that it just feels different this season. I don't know why, but it just does. The mood around the club seems different as well.
When I look at that squad, on paper. It is a team that can possibly achieve automatic promotion, or the playoffs at the bare minimum. It will be interesting to see how the table looks 10 games in.

Just remember there is another 21 teams in the league most of which have signed some very good players. Just hope we get off to a good start for once instead of playing catch up all season. Things are indeed looking positive!!!

As everyone knows, in my opinion, based on the last 97 consecutive games, of which I have missed 3.7%, I will reserve my judgement for 4 minutes.

They are, based on pre-season results. I'm just hoping that the team can take the current form into competitive fixtures. But I am confident that we now have the squad to match any in the division.
I am sure that zzzz, theneil30 and Top Cat will add their trolling comments to this one about accumulators and freebies and whatever else they decide to come up with. Amusing really.

You have to laugh Neil, not the cretin thirty, a great preseason and the those with ridiculously short memories. .....trolls......fools........or just those still smarting after so many seasons looking like tits justifying failure, are out in force.
Suggest you trolls pipe down and take a look at the fixture list and point son the table and come back in May when hopefully we can be ALL celebrating the year that Simon gets it right. In the meantime, perhaps focus on the football and the club as opposed to picking out one individual who actually shows balance and perspective in their posts.
don't suppose any of you trolls were on here after boxing day spreading bs about Guiseley or indeed speaking malicious rumours about the kop of fear and its inhabitants?
