    To Ged
Although great you are back to respond to fans (good and bad posts) and the forum is better for your input I find it laughable the way you hid from this forum for a few months when reality was striking home.

This in the context of your moralising at certain fans; I find amusing on one level but also quite opportune.

I consider myself to be of the ilk of TheNeil and co - happy we are winning again and pleased Simon has managed this with a young bunch of fresh and enthusiastic players. I see the impact in off the pitch areas that Senior has had and applaud it.

    BUT

How you can waltz back as if myriad of issues have never happened, when we are still utterly underperforming in the league - second favourites to go up - remember that? eh?

The club had a closed shop of a session with a few of the fans - that was utterly contrived to bring about a positive result for the club but still leaves a number of core issues unresolved. If there had been any real desire to address issues you lot would have had the balls to make it an open evening.

Squad turnover and the lack of culpability for the man who brings them to the club and 'manages' them - who then discards a number of players who have performed pre and post their spell with the club. (obviously the current batch of Weavers galaticos got wise to his abilities earlier than most and gave up on him - how long will this last with current earnest youngsters keen to impress?) Have we had value for money from Simon's signings? and if not why not??

The utterly repugnant scapegoating of a member of staff. Which extends into the our way or highway mentality know mentioned by visiting fans; especially when the topic of our captain comes up.

The loss of a highly impactful and great bloke from the community role at the club? Go on Ged address that???? Why did he leave? Maybe something to do with the questionable signings made of players who have a very, very limited impact given the baggage they carried vs. our position as an upstanding club in the community.

The fact that one of these individuals offered out and was highly abusive to a very loyal and passionate fan for utterly no direct provocation. The ensuing slap in the face from the club in starting the player the next game (even though he was in poor form) and then having his picture on the website for the match report. A direct up yours to those involved if ever there was one. And sums up the prevailing attitude towards fans quite rightfully asking why we under perform.

And ultimately why do you find it so hard to accept that some paying fans will never accept the unique position the club is in (must be a When Saturday Comes article in it) of having a chairman's son as mr untouchable despite the under performance season after season. Or do you differ and think Simon is over performing and it is the misfortune of having an ever changing cast of players to blame for the club's failure to build consistency and a proper tilt at promotion. I bet for every player you can find who slates the fans for targetting them ( I think you need to get out more to other clubs for what they can be like), there will be many, many more who would not have anything positive to say about the way the club is managed and run.

I ache for the club to succeed, I long for the crowds the club and the infrastructure deserve to emerge from the glory hunting supposed football fans of Harrogate. I am a keen advocate of the club to everyone I meet and so far this season have bought down at least 15 different people to games, some of which have started attending regularly but find it hard to reconcile your view and lack of acceptance of the negatives surrounding the club, which in many levels will always hamper us from attracting 700+ a game and progressing up the league.

Many of us accept some of the points raised above as having happened and just move on and we all have to as we all ultimately support town through passion (funny that the most vocal are also many of which the club has targeted) but for you to act like we are lucky to have the Weavers and the unique dictats they have bought is a joke Ged.

Carefree - I am more than happy to meet with you when you are next at a home game to discuss the content of your post. As mentioned in a previous post, at the end of this discussion, we may agree to disagree, but at least both parties will have a more rounded understanding of the situation.

I have a guest with me at this Saturdays game - how does the Colwyn Bay fixture sound to you or do you attend away fixtures as Hyde would be another option?

One point I would make - my reason for returning to the forum is simple - I have never resorted to personal abuse, and am not prepared to see personal abuse on the forum go without response.

I look forward to hearing from you - feel free to communicate on [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] if you wish.

ps. thanks for inviting so many guests sunny  sunny

Ok Ged, thanks for the amicable response and would gladly like to discuss the points at the Colwyn game. It is a bit of a shame that you cannot offer some responses here as well. My away days extend to another club unfortunately - only so many passes out a bloke can get!
There are a few ideas I have, given my profession, on helping the club reach more people in HG as well that might be good to chat through.

Amen to that post Carefree, especially this bit:

I would really love to see the club's farcical situation highlighted to a wider audience.

No because you think you're above everybody else as seen here:

This is the typical way you respond to anything you disagree with. Even when it's with someone new to the forum who you don't know and it's your first interaction with that person, I've seen it loads and then when they have a swipe back you don't like it and play the classic boy who cried wolf. You're snidey and unpleasant and every bit as guilty of those you accuse. Hypocrite.

Ooh dear it's all got a bit unnecessarily nasty. Although it does have to said it is true that representative(s) of the club go very quiet when the chips are down.

Why are the club so paranoid about this 'unofficial' forum ? They seem to hang on its every word. Apparently the players/management get very upset if theirs any critical comments -don't read it then, simples... Either have an official forum where the club can properly respond or just keep out, or you'll provide fodder for the likes of Town Lishke.

Nobby. Lets see if he's as keen posting the next time the club is going through a rough patch. My guess is probably not.

    Of the issues identified below, spot which ones (if any) ged has commented on;

    A) players signed with dubious backgrounds / reputations despite club promoting itself as a family club
    B) tad stepping down as director
    C) shane killock loaned out to local rivals

    Shameful ...
