Just felt I had to congratulate Craig for some really excellent photos of the Boston game: the fans and our first two goals. OK it went pear shaped in the end, but they are images to treasure. Clayton really looks up for it for us, I really hope we can sign him for next season. Nice antidote to some of the relentless negativity of some others. Still, I suppose I am a bit 'posh'.

Hypocrite. Your views change depending on which way the winds blowing. As the saying goes - we know what happens to people who stay in the middle of the road.

well at least hes consistant you have change your tune after a couple of results maybe you got favourable answers to the questions you wanted to ask

    1) to Irving: Is Simon unsackable?
    2) to Simon: after nearly five years how do you honestly rate your performance as manager? Hasn't this season been a massive step backwards?
    3) It would seem that we and Barrow have the two highest wage bills in this league, they are top, we are struggling below mid table, and most of our expensive signings are no longer first team choices. Does Simon have an explanation for this?
    4) To Irving: Everyone appreciates the off field developments, but isn't it the fact that what really matters to fans, and the only way to increase attendances, is to have a winning team? After 5 years we seem as far away as ever from achieving this.
    5) Why is the club so resistant to bringing someone else in to assist Simon and McDermott, assuming they are not going to be sacked?
    6) Has any consideration been given to appointing Simon as Director of Football, and appointing a Head Coach?
    7) Can we assume that next season's team will consist largely of youngsters brought in from lower league teams? Isn't this a de facto acknowledgement of three years of failure using a 'big names, big wages' policy?
Cool Does Simon ever feel lucky still to be in his job? Very few managers get 5 years to achieve promotion.

    talk about being sucked in,

    Well said, paulstreet ,totally agree.
Ged , TS and his ilk are NOT supporters they are people who have nothing but hatred in what passes for their soul.

[quote="JordanF"]All are supporters, they just chose to support the club in different ways.

Have to disagree with you on this Jordan but will explain my point of view with you at Saturdays game.

One observation I would make is this:

I have talked at length with Town supporters and ex players and have spent some time looking at other club forums and no-one matches this forum for the level of personal abuse levelled by a very small minority of supporters at players (some people have short memories, but I remember the dogs abuse that Adam Nowakoski received a couple of seasons ago and how it was denounced by all the supporters at last years forum! - look back a few weeks and see what sort of posts there were about Paul Clayton -ask Paul Beesley about the forum!! then ask him about his feelings towards the Club!! might surprise one or two on here), management and staff (nb. my issue is with personal abuse!!!).

I come on here, not because I enjoy it, but because I need to have a finger on the pulse and because I hope to provide a balance to some of the comments made on the forum.

Before we get the usuals on talking about shrinking violets, I would ask you to consider how one of our young players might respond to reading the recent post from UW about the result at Gainsborough - carefully mentions we only beat the team 6th from bottom, highlights Saturdays game but forgets to mention Fylde, Chorley and the Boston home game - typical.

AND BEFORE THE USUALS COME ON AGAIN I AM NOT HAPPY WITH OUR PRESENT POSITION IN THIS DIVISION BUT AM HEARTENED, WITHOUT GOING OVERBOARD IN ANY WAY, AT RECENT PERFORMANCES - would it be asking too much to let us just enjoy the moment while it is here?

Just a suggestion: show someone not involved in the Club the forum content for the last week and ask them for an opinion as to the content.

Well done to all the fans who made the trip to Gainsborough - your support was noted by players, management and Radio York - starting to get something of a reputation on air now!!!! - dont forget about the bus to Hyde - if we can get 40 people we have the executive coach with on board loo sunny sunny sunny

I have not actually changed my mind about the managerial situation, (altho' a few more wins and I might!), but, like I say, I love Harrogate Town , and when we win I'm happy. Difficult concept to grasp I know, but keep trying. Is it now 6 wins out of 8? Not sure any new manager could have done much better.

You're always going to be susceptible to criticism when the manager is the chairman's son. If you hadn't grasped that by now then you're even more stupid than I realised.

Likewise I'd be interested to hear what numerous other players have to say about the management setup (some I already know as I've spoken to them directly after a game). Can't imagine Jamie walshaw has much positive to say about his experience at town, shane killock doesn't appear to have a lot to smile about. And if you want to draw upon previous seasons then how's about the league campaign when simon successfully managed to piss off an entire contingent of players from the north east, michael tait, Stephen turnball, richard pell and paul brayson. Plenty more to choose from. What's tads honest view about how aspects of the club operated duribg his time as director?

TS has got it pretty much spot on in my opinion, and Ged, i'm sure if you asked a lot more players, and certain members of staff and volunteers from previous years since the start of Simon's tenure (i've lost count of the players that have come and gone) i'm quite confident that although some of them may look back fondly on their time with the club, there would be a hell of a lot more of them wouldn't be too complimentary about the abilities of the manager, current chairman and certain other personnel within the club, not including the names mentioned by TS either.

I'd be pretty interested into knowing why Tad Nowakowski left as a director as well, as in my opinion, he is a big loss to the club.

Oh please. I challenge you to dig up ONE single post about Clayton that is over the top or crosses a line. This is a football forum but you just cannot grasp that concept. If only some of these sensitive and precious little souls had the same thick skin as our chairman and manager, we might be a bit further up the table. It's hilarious because clearly some of these players are no shrinking violets when it comes to their "off field" activities so quite why they're crying at a few posters calling them a bit rubbish God only knows. Maybe it tells you all you need to know about the character of these guys and why we lose so many games.

Couldn't bring myself to cheering Speights goal on Tuesday after the way he spoke to Jordan at the services when we bumped into the players before the game (3rd time he has been out of order towards fans)

The guy is an absolute moron, and I will get personal with this because the majority have moved on from Guiseley but him. He couldn't give a monkeys about our club, the sooner we get rid the better. Just a shame no other manager will take him on loan, he has probably one of the worst reputations in non-league football.

So a player comes to Town on loan, is arguably man of the match at Solihull - gets up Sunday and reads this on the forum

"He's shite, he's poor and he hasn't even scored a goal. It's Paul Clayton...........Paul Clayton.

I'm sure that Thewlis is permanent and Nyoni/Gascoigne are loans?"

Ged. If the players can't cope with criticism, including Paul Clayton, then they shouldn't read the comments on the forum. I'm sure he is big enough and mature enough to deal with it.

And for your information, it was me that posted that comment about Paul Clayton, and if you knew anything, I spoke to Paul Clayton directly after the Fylde game in the bar. Apologized to him for criticising him, then congratulated him on his game and bought him a Guinness and Black.

My opinion of you has just dropped considerably. Trying to use my post to prove a point. Get your facts right.

Yes, it was. The simple fact of the matter is if the players/management can't stand a bit of criticism, then they shouldn't read the forum. Let's see how keen you are responding the next time we have a drop in form.

Oh my God. You're just like the chairman and the manager, you're not living in the real world. If being called crap online by someone is enough to ward a player off from joining us then good riddance. Jesus wept I cannot believe what I'm reading you crazy old fool. This just shows the levels of delusion and paranoia that festers at the club, so touchy and massively out of touch and it's no doubt as a direct consequence of deep down knowing that what they are doing is completely and utterly wrong. Totally shameless the lot of you.

I swear to God this is the most pathetic thing I've read on here yet. A player turning a football club down because someone had a pop on a website? Shoot me now!

Must have real faith in his own ability, the manager and the club if that was enough to give him second thoughts Rolling Eyes

Here's a thought, how's about ignoring it, manning up and trying to prove the doubters wrong? That's what winners do all the time. Oh hang on a minute...

And I thought WE were the fragile ones.

Irving and Simon knew precisely the deal they were making when they went ahead with this. So far all we've had is 5 years of excuses, finger pointing, shifting the blame and continuously being told to be grateful for moderate ground improvements and some nice community work. Not to mention all the shocking decisions that have been made in recent times that Town Supporter eluded to earlier today. Well I'm sorry but everything that has been slung at them is completely fair, this was always going to be the cost of the manager's failure when you make a pact with the devil and they have massive brassnecks to complain about it. To be honest they've had an easy ride and frankly I'm astonished more people haven't kicked off. Perhaps the truth is that there isn't that many people in the town that really care. I cannot think of anywhere else where they would have got away with this.

Why can't you just piss off with all this boring negativity Town Lishke? I hope Clayton reads the postive comments that people are putting about him because he has been sensational since he first started playing for us! And I really hope he can sign on for us. He has been one of the key players for our success recently and Town Lishke says good riddance!!! Have you even been to a game? You're just a sad man sat at your computer screen waiting till we lose to post something or just ruin any positive comments with the same old boring stuff...
