County Cup Semi-Final
Pitch was rock hard today with no sign of it thawing.

We need to spread our love for Town all over the pitch and it'll thaw out. Love can build a bridge.

It's bleeding freezing and a tin pot cup that nobody gives a toss about. Are they really charging full price for entry?
4pm pitch inspection - could well have softened up by then but be rock hard again by 7:45....

Can't see anywhere that it says full price. Usually a fiver for County Cup, but the visiting team has to agree if you want to reduce your usual price.

Can't see anywhere that says that it isn't. For a club that is supposed to have a 'professional set up', communication is a bit shite. Only found out about the pitch inspection from Garforth's Twitter.

Oxford and Hyde's home games, which were due to be played tonight, have been postponed.

Don't see your problem Nobby as you won't be there anyway now you're a rail supporter.nobby99 wrote:Townfan wrote:Can't see anywhere that it says full price.

It is possible to support both teams, although I know some would argue with that. Not an issue really unless they end up in the same league (although that is becoming a possibility the direction both clubs seem to be going).
Going by the state of my lawn don't think anybody will be playing tonight.

You would think after last year there would have been a more concerted effort to win it. Pathetic

What a load of rubbish. That was our best team out 1 month ago- just shows how bad they really are.

Re: County Cup Semi-Final
The XI that played tonight seriously need to take a look at themselves. Absolutely pathetic performance. Sorry to say it, but Wally could not give a monkey's, and can you blame him. Speight seemed more bothered at having a go at the fans again. Barnes....at fault for the second goal IMO and beaten at his near post. No idea what happened for their first.

Re: County Cup Semi-Final
I really missed out there then. WRCC is an utter waste of time - the West Riding hasn't even existed for over 40 years so God knows why we're in it. A North Yorkshire cup might make more sense.
Not surprised Walshaw etc, don't give a toss - can you blame them ? Not played for weeks then given a run out in this pile of crap. They'll be a big exodus of players at the end of the season; you know who will still be bloody there though.

Simon, just do the honourable thing and go; at least Harry Rednapp has the guts to do it.

Re: County Cup Semi-Final
Ten changes from the starting line up in our last game against Solihull, only Turner kept his place.
A chance for the rest to make a case for inclusion in the first team and what did we get:-
A lack of Effort.
A lack of skill
A lack of passion
A lack of Fight
A lack of pride.
I would think a lot of questions were answered last night.
We desperately need to sign Gascoigne now.
Congratulations to Garforth, they were well organised and wanted it more than the sorry array of talent that put a Town shirt on last night.
Thankfully the players that want to wear a Town shirt will be back in action on Saturday.
On a positive note, it was good to see Ashley back.

Re: County Cup Semi-Final
Placing all the blame on the players Townfan are you Simon Weaver in disguise? How many defeats to lower league opposition is that now? At least it saves us another embarrassing defeat in the final. Glad I was working last night

Of course I am placing the blame on the players. You ask anybody who was there last night.

How old are you Lishke ? you really havent a clue. The players out there last night should have been really trying to impress to get in the first team . The only one trying was Kerry and he was strangely subbed. Walshaw disgraced himself with his non trying and should have no chance of a recall to the line up.Meynell gets worse every time we see him and he was to replace the legend Dave Merris. If the players dont try then its their fault

Re: County Cup Semi-Final
I have to disagree there Garage. These players that Simon has signed do not become crap overnight. The simple fact if it is that they have become disillusioned with the Weaver regime. If there was a more experienced manager in the dugout, who was tactically adept and could man manage players when they are low on confidence, instead of just signing more players, this season would be a different story. Because he is tactically inept and can't man manage for ****, this is why the playing side of the club is in its current predicament.
It is no surprise to me that they lost last night. I can question the players professionalism in this performance, but ultimately, i can't blame the players for the overall situation. Simon is the manager. The buck stops with him.
People may agree or disagree with this point, but when you sign players of the Calibre of your Woods, Walshaw, Bolder, Kerry etc...you have got to know how to get the best out of them. Simon never has, or did.
