Post by yorkiebar on Tue Feb 03, 2015 6:12 pm

as this month is to be the time to ask the manager questions, and as its only open to season ticket fans, do you agree with me the questions could be posted on the forum , and some concerned fan could ask said questions,

If the questions are going to be hand picked beforehand, will this be any use. Any searching questions will be thrown out before the meeting starts.

I am as confident that any questions regarding the management get answered, as I am of Weaver jnr ever becoming a half decent manager

As I have said in a previous post. This Q & A is going to be an orchastrated PR exercise. My thought process is:

    1. The management picking and choosing what questions to answer? This should be an open and honest fans Q & A, and the Weavers should be asked some very hard hitting questions and should provide honest answers.

    2. It will look good on the club in the advertiser if they say they held a fans Q & A, but it was a poor turnout. By making it a orchastrated PR exercise, the turnout will be considerably less. People want to hear the truth, not be fed a pile of bullshit.

    3. This fans Q & A will not address any of the current problems that are existing on the playing staff side, as this will all be sidestepped by the Chuckle Brothers and McGurk (I'm surprised it isnt Blooper doing it tbh)

    4. The fans who do turn up will just be fed a load of bullshit. Some of them will be taken in, some won't. The ones who are taken in, then more fool them.

In my opinion, the only way they will generate any decent level of interest in this fans Q & A is if it is an open question forum, no holds barred. The fans arent stupid, and i'd be confident that no stupid or irrelevant questions would be asked. Maybe then, an only then, if the club answered the hard hitting questions honestly, then the majority of the fans may be willing to take a different view on things.

It goes along with the famous saying: 'Honesty is the best policy'. The management, in my opinion are about as honest as a dodgy second-hand car salesman.

And another famous saying 'The truth hurts'. Which is why it will be a careful PR exercise.

I'll be in London so wont be there, but a few questions that I'd like to see asked include:

    1) to Irving: Is Simon unsackable?
    2) to Simon: after nearly five years how do you honestly rate your performance as manager? Hasn't this season been a massive step backwards?
    3) It would seem that we and Barrow have the two highest wage bills in this league, they are top, we are struggling below mid table, and most of our expensive signings are no longer first team choices. Does Simon have an explanation for this?
    4) To Irving: Everyone appreciates the off field developments, but isn't it the fact that what really matters to fans, and the only way to increase attendances, is to have a winning team? After 5 years we seem as far away as ever from achieving this.
    5) Why is the club so resistant to bringing someone else in to assist Simon and McDermott, assuming they are not going to be sacked?
    6) Has any consideration been given to appointing Simon as Director of Football, and appointing a Head Coach?
    7) Can we assume that next season's team will consist largely of youngsters brought in from lower league teams? Isn't this a de facto acknowledgement of three years of failure using a 'big names, big wages' policy?
Cool Does Simon ever feel lucky still to be in his job? Very few managers get 5 years to achieve promotion.

I could go on, and I guess they are all variations on a theme. If you read this Ged, please feel free to ask any of these on my behalf. I am a season ticket holder and supporters club member, so I think I qualify!
