    Portsmouth Empty Portsmouth

Post by BB Tue Oct 22, 2019 12:37 pm

Ok, let’s help the club with the ticket sales so that there aren’t any misunderstandings or bad feelings.

A few points quickly thrown together to consider,… and publicise! I know the club will, hopefully, have most of them covered.

When will tickets go on sale on line and via the office, and how many are allocated to each?

Will Season Ticket holders get first opportunity, and how for how long before they go on general sale?

Is there a way for just ST holders to buy on line, or will they have to come to the office?

Is there a way to record how may ST holders buy on line?

If tickets are sold on line first, what measures are in place to ensure that ST holders who can only get tickets via the office will be catered for?

On one occasion I was one of the first at the ground, only to find that the tickets had been almost sold out, because they’d been on sale on line for a couple of days.

Pre-printed fancy tickets with a seat number on aren’t necessary.

If there are 400 seats in the stand, there just needs to be 400 ‘cloakroom type’ tickets.

If tickets are pre-printed with a seat number… why can’t ST holders have our normal seat allocated to us? The club have a list of names and seat numbers.

Even if tickets don’t have seat numbers…why can’t we have our normal seats allocated?

How many tickets can each person, whether online or via the office, ST holders or not, be able to purchase, and what measures are in place to ensure this is kept to?

I know I’ve got a bee in my bonnet about this, and the club has got a lot better than it used to be, but it ain’t rocket science to cover all the angles.

Interesting list BB, hope you sent it to the Club instead of just putting it on a "ghost" forum.
Game is now on Monday 11th November kick off 7.45.

Yep Townfan, and they seem to have most things covered.

On first reading I wasn’t sure that …‘operating a reserved seating system in the Green King stand’.. meant that we could sit in our normal seats…. But I guess it can’t mean anything else… eh? Which would be a first… and credit to the club for that.

Unless it means that when you buy a ticket it will have a random seat number and that’s your reserved seat, where you have to sit, so don’t try sitting where you normally do!

Been reading the Portsmouth website and fan’s forum recently, which has given me some hope for the match.

I know most posts on forums are ‘negative’ but the fans seem very critical of the manager, his tactics, team selection and timing of substitutions.

The team reportedly tire in the second half and let in goals late on.

Ross Mcrorie is injured, as may be Craig Macgillivray.

They’ve never won on an artificial pitch (all be it 8 matches played in the 80’s)

They’ve just beaten Southend 4- 1, but Southend are v poor and have 5 points and a goal difference of -31 in 17 matches

I know it’s all relative, but I’m hoping we take the opportunity to not do what we normally do when playing in front of a large crowd.

A win on Monday and a good run in the league will be a chance to get the glory hunters back through the gates for the rest of the season.

    C’mon you Town!!!!

We can do this but I do think Simon MUST change the starting line up. We cant give the ball away so we need players that keep the ball - as he said in his interview We cant afford players that pass the ball their striker form 40 yards to give them a goal or anyone that takes on three players beats them and gives the ball away. MUST have Emmett and Thomson in line up if Kerry is fit he should start as well. Defensively we need to change the LB Taylor should come in for Smith as he has had some torrid times and I'm sure Portsmouth will target that area as a weakness.

Couldn’t agree more Whiterose. Our left back has in my eyes been a really poor signing. Terrible passer of the ball, and a disaster waiting to happen one on one. Near our box, it’s frightening. Get Warren back there, hopefully Conner is back, then the two other completely realiables, Will Smith and Ryan, and we will be much stronger and harder to beat.
Come on Town, you can do it!!

Disappointed but credit to the two Pompey strikes.
However if you pick the same team you will have the same problems and we did. We gave the ball away so much instead of keeping it, Brendan's first 5 passes went to a Blue shirt for example gave the ball away for the 2nd aswell. We needed more composure on the ball and keep possession. We have got away with it recently with Belshaw keeping us in games and the subs making the diference. Belshaw again kept it within reach and Thommo was so close with the volley. But it was only after Emmett and Thommo was introduced did we keep the ball and look threatening- just a shame they weren't on at the start. As for LB that cost us the first goal.
Onwards and hopefully upwards in the league and hopefully Simon has learnt

    Portsmouth Empty League.

Post by Ozzi Fri Nov 15, 2019 5:00 pm

After our heroics on Monday, it’s back to the bread and butter, as Leauges are often referred to. Before I speak about the Leauge, id just like to say, the lads were magnificent against Pompi, and were very unlucky not to get the lucrative replay everyone in the crowd were preying for. If we can put that kind of performance into tomorrow’s game at Top of the table Bromley, we surely will come away with minimum, one point, and if more leathal in front of goal, with three points. Simon and Paul are working wonders once more with the squad, so let’s give them the backing they truly deserve, and let’s start filling our ground again. Onwards and upwards,
    Proud to be Town.

Yep, credit to the players for keeping us in the game for the full 90 minutes.

Although the Portsmouth forum is saying how crap their players were.

One thing we should have picked up though, is when you’ve got half a chance… bl**dy SHOOT!

Not being funny or making light of what must have been a very stressful situation, but if we’re able to get, as stated on the website, approx 2800 fans into the ground in 20 minutes, through 4 turnstiles (say 2 seconds per fan – how did they manage that?), there shouldn’t be any reason why we ST holders, or anyone else, should normally have to wait for ages while they try to scan bar codes on peoples’ phones.

I know it’s not much of a dilemma in the overall scheme of things … just saying

My Brother and I greatly enjoyed the competiveness of the Portsmouth match ,although we could have done without standing outside for an hour before hand. However was greatly impressed with the quality of the Town players, you were not able to determine who was the league side for long periods.I was also impressed with the fitness of the Town team, and subs when they came on.The people of Harrogate should turn out in numbers to watch a team of this quality,as results this season and performances have shown that come the end of the season,Town should be in with a big shout of achieving league status
