AFC Halifax Town Empty AFC Halifax Town

Post by yorkbrian Wed Sep 23, 2009 1:05 pm

Well finally got to see them last night at Garforth Town in the League Cup.

No Dean, Sykes or Keeling but pretty much everyone else in the match squad. Marshall and Hardy started and Gray came on a sub.

It was the worst game of football I have seen for a while with no quality at all from either side. Scooby still shows his promise but the players round him more or less lack the basics. OK they still won 1-0 but with a defeat on Saturday (cant see them scratching the surface against Droylsden) the customary struggle in the second half of the season will probably happen.

I think I would still rather follow Harrogate going on that performance.

I would rather follow Harrogate too. I wonder is they are getting better wages at AFC Halifax. Probably.

Be interesting to see how they get on against Droylsden in the cup, class side as I've seen at this level, and a lot of Ex-Town players at Halifax and they are going well in the league. Be good test of how good they really are.

Well done to the shaymen. We've been trying to win at Droylsden since time began. Good luck in the next round.
It sounds as if deano has learnt to control his elbows & is concentrating on banging the goals in.

After 40 years and 4500 games, football has a habit of showing you up as knowing nothing.

I will add my congratulations on a great result.
