mickey mouse cup Empty mickey mouse cup

Post by number1 on Sun Dec 16, 2012 10:28 pm

I am pretty chuffed with the result on Saturday even though it was against a Hinckley side that everyone is beating. However, one aspect is concerning me me and that is fixture congestion over the next few weeks as we catch up on games following our wonderful FA cup journey.

This week is going to be a nightmare with a mickey mouse cup home tie with Guiseley followed 24 hour later by a vital fixture in Chester. I hope the regulations of the mickey mouse cup allow us to field a youth team, but I suspect we will be forced in playing a handful of first team players leaving us weak on Wednesday!

Shame we can't forfeit the mickey mouse cup this season bounce

Alot of the youth team are already registered in the comp so are eligable to play...I imagine there will be a couple of fringe players in the team (the couple that don't make it into the squad for Wed) but defiantly nothing more.

I guess Viega, Garbutt, Hardy, Allen, Osborne (if he is still with us), the guy on loan from Leeds (Turner?) maybe Clayton and Adam will play, so we could have 6 or 7 first team squad players available.

We're 3-0 down after 32 mins, looks like Guiseley give a toss about this cruddy cup, unlike us. Objective achieved if we get out of this waste of time tonight, worst mistake we made was winning in the last round. Hopefully we'll learn our lesson for next year.

Tyler Bussue, that famous Harrogate striker, went close for us on 15 mins apparently - the idiot, get him/her subbed.

I wonder if even Weaver bothered going? Roll on Chester and proper football tomorrow.

    OOps 4-0 , silly us...........

Ossett Albion defender scored our winner in the last round!
A backlog of games & the state of the pitch means it is likely to cost the club money staying in it!!!!!!!!
Guiseley knocked out of trophy Sat so their punishment is having to play tonight!!!!

0-0 in the second half, that means we qualify doesn't it?

MIxed feelings about this cup. Not this season obviously but normally I think any trophy is worth competing for (look at chelsea last night!)...we only enter 3 cups after all.
